About the Position:
The Office of Admissions is responsible for determining student eligibility for admission to the University, processes and evaluates applications and transcripts, determining residency status, and reviewing appeals for exception to University Policy.

We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as the Admissions Information Center Associate (Student Services Professional I - Range B).
The ideal candidate in this role should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director and/or Associate Directors/Director of Admissions, the Admissions Information Center Associate (AICA) provides application information, admissions information, and admissions programs for prospective students, parent and family members, high school and community college counselors, and other university guests, following well-established work procedures.
Is knowledgeable of academic qualifications of undergraduate and graduate applicants, including International students, and utilizes established guidelines, regulations and precedents in applying University policies and procedures relating to applications, admissions, and/or transfer credit, including admissions appeals, residency for tuition purposes and admissions decision notifications.
Provides support for student staff, performs customer service, document processing, and data collecting techniques for the Admissions office, in order to meet established goals.
Assist with the responses to emails, phone calls and walk-in customers.
Assist as necessary when change of majors or bio-demo changes are requested.
Coordinates and provides support for other major programs and projects sponsored by the department.
In addition, recognize specific Admissions Office needs and make recommendations to develop creative approaches for possible implementation to meet these needs.
Commits to contributing to provide the highest level of quality service, professionalism, and a total team environment.

Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field plus one year of experience in professional Student Services work at the entry trainee level.
Specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
Equivalent amounts of job-related, graduate level education may be substituted for the required experience.
Working knowledge of the methods and problems of organization and program management.
Working knowledge of research techniques, interview techniques, and the principles of individual and group behavior.
Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, gather and analyze data, reason logically, draw valid conclusions, and make appropriate recommendations.
Ability to present clear and concise information orally and in written reports.
Ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures and activities and the overall organization.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information.

Preferred Qualifications Understands and is well versed in CSU application, process, timelines and software system.
Experience in a highly automated environment.
Experience in providing exceptional customer service and ability to interact with diverse populations of students, faculty, staff and the general public.
Experience in explaining the application, admissions, deadlines, criteria, and evaluations.
Ability to safeguard the confidentiality and security of records.
Work experience in a university office setting, preferably Admissions, Outreach, Recruitment, or front desk environment with customer-facing responsibilities and/or supervision of student staff.
